Learn more about choosing the right colors for your at home work space, from Ann Pailthorp, Color Consultant with Regal Paint Centers.

Like many of you, I have been on my fair share of Zoom calls over the last few weeks and man have I seen a lot of beige home office backdrops! While a timeless neutral can be calming and easy to live with, many of us now need to consider how our wall colors look on camera and the message those colors convey to our clients and colleagues. Choosing colors that speak to your personality or brand and colors that also look good “on you” may be the new approach to choosing the right office color in our modern working world.

Here are a few tips for selecting your next home office paint color:
  1. Use a color that contrasts with your skin tone and hair color so your image visually stands out on video conference calls.

  2. Use your brand color as a backdrop to visually reinforce your business branding.

  3. Use colors that reinforce your personality. Are you a ray of Sunshine? Then consider a bold orange like Startling Orange.

  4. Use a color that sets the right mood for your work. For a touch of sophistication, consider a deep, dramatic and moody gray-green like Yorktown Green or perhaps a calming gray-blue like Silvery Blue.
